Community Guidelines
Last updated: July 7, 2026 · Version 1.3
CryptoVoice is built on community trust. These guidelines exist to keep our platform accurate, safe, and useful for every investor. Violations may result in content removal, reputation penalties, shadow limiting, or account suspension.
1. Raising Concerns
✅ Do
- Provide specific, verifiable evidence for every concern you raise
- Link to credible sources (block explorers, official announcements, news reports)
- Use precise language describing what you observed and when
- Raise concerns only about observable, verifiable behaviour
- Disclose any financial interest (long or short position) in the project
❌ Don't
- Submit concerns without evidence — these will be dismissed and reduce your reputation score
- Raise concerns about projects you hold a short position in without disclosing your conflict
- Submit duplicate concerns about the same issue
- Use vague language like "I heard" or "someone told me"
- Exceed 5 concerns per day (platform limit)
2. Voting on Concerns
✅ Do
- Review the evidence provided before voting
- Vote based on the factual merit of the concern, not personal feelings about the project
- Change your vote if new information emerges
❌ Don't
- Coordinate with others to mass-vote on concerns (vote manipulation)
- Vote purely because you dislike a project's community or founders
- Create multiple accounts to vote multiple times
3. Chat and Group Behaviour
✅ Do
- Keep discussions focused on investment safety and risk analysis
- Treat all community members with respect
- Share relevant news, research, and on-chain data
- Use the long-press Report button to flag suspicious or harmful messages
- Respect announcement channels — they are for project team updates only; members may react but not post
❌ Don't
- Post seed phrases, private keys, or wallet recovery information
- Promote airdrops, giveaways, or "guaranteed return" schemes
- Harass, threaten, or demean other users
- Spam the same message repeatedly
- Share referral links or solicit investments
- Impersonate projects, founders, or CryptoVoice staff
- Exceed 50 chat messages per day (platform limit)
- Post in announcement channels unless you are the verified project admin for that group
4. Groups
CryptoVoice groups are community spaces tied to crypto projects or general topics. All chat behaviour rules above apply within groups.
✅ Do
- Respect group admins — they are responsible for their community's quality
- Follow the group's topic focus; off-topic spam disrupts the community
- Use emoji reactions to engage constructively without flooding chat
- Report harmful group messages using the long-press Report button
❌ Don't
- Create groups solely to spam, promote scams, or solicit investments
- Misuse group admin powers to target or silence legitimate dissent
- Share images or files that violate these guidelines within groups
5. Direct Messages (DMs)
CryptoVoice DMs use a request-and-accept flow to protect users from unsolicited contact. The same content rules that apply to public spaces apply to private messages.
✅ Do
- Only send DM requests to users you have a legitimate reason to contact
- Respect when users decline or ignore your DM request
- Report abusive DM content using the Report button inside the conversation
- Block users who send harassing messages — blocked users cannot re-contact you
❌ Don't
- Send unsolicited investment pitches, referral links, or promotional content via DM
- Use DMs to harass, threaten, intimidate, or dox other users
- Send images, files, or links that violate these guidelines in private messages
- Create multiple accounts to bypass a block
Note: CryptoVoice may review DM content in response to a valid abuse report or legal requirement. DMs are not end-to-end encrypted — do not share sensitive personal information via DMs.
6. File Uploads & Image Attachments
Users may attach images to direct messages, group chats, and profile photos. All uploaded files are subject to automated and manual moderation.
✅ Do
- Only upload images you have the right to share
- Keep attachments relevant to the conversation context
- Use your own photo for profile pictures (no impersonation)
❌ Don't
- Upload images containing illegal, harmful, violent, or sexually explicit content
- Share screenshots or documents containing other users' personal information without consent
- Upload files that attempt to exploit or circumvent platform security
- Use image attachments to spread scam content that you would not post as text
7. Push Notifications
CryptoVoice may send push notifications to your device. These are service notifications only — we do not send marketing messages without explicit opt-in. You can customise or disable all notification types at any time from Profile → Notification Preferences.
- Do not attempt to trigger notifications to other users as a harassment technique (e.g., mass-mentioning or spamming reactions)
- Notification permission is optional and does not affect core platform functionality
8. Expert Conduct
KYC-verified experts are held to a higher standard. Expert status is a privilege, not a right — it can be revoked at any time for conduct violations.
- Disclose any financial interest in projects you comment on
- Only claim expertise in areas you are genuinely qualified in
- Do not use your Expert status to promote projects you have a paid relationship with without disclosure
- Maintain professional neutrality in public comments, concerns, and group posts
- Project owners are not eligible to apply for Expert status while holding an active project on the platform, to protect community impartiality
9. Content Moderation & Shadow Limiting
CryptoVoice uses automated and manual moderation to maintain platform safety. Here is how it works:
- Automated flagging: Messages containing patterns associated with scams, seed phrases, pump-and-dump language, or airdrops are automatically flagged and may be hidden pending review.
- Community flagging: Any user may flag a message using the long-press Report button. Content that receives 3 or more flags is automatically collapsed with a warning label, pending admin review. False or retaliatory flagging is itself a violation.
- Removal requests: Users may submit removal requests for content they believe violates these Guidelines. Requests are reviewed by admins — content is not deleted instantly. All moderation actions are recorded in the public Transparency Log.
- Shadow limiting: Accounts that repeatedly post violating content may have their visibility reduced without permanent suspension and without notification. During this period, the user's content is less prominently surfaced to other users.
- Admin authority: Admins may remove any content, restrict any account, or apply any moderation action at their sole discretion.
10. Consequences for Violations
- Minor violations: Content removal, temporary feature restrictions, reputation score reduction
- Moderate violations: Temporary account suspension, shadow limiting
- Severe violations: Permanent account ban, expert status revocation, forfeiture of any paid subscriptions (no refund)
- Legal violations: Reported to appropriate law enforcement authorities
11. Reporting Violations
Use the long-press Report button on any concern, message, or group post to flag it in-app. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. For urgent safety issues, contact safety@cryptovoice.app. For general support, contact support@cryptovoice.app.
